The Talon: Home of Insanity and Debauchery
by Fakey McReportergirl
Feb. 16, 2003 -- Cyberspace

For years, Sarea and Jade have considered themselves degenerates of a sort, but at long last, their patience has paid off -- they have been publicly honored with this title. Okay, not exactly, but they're getting there. Online entertainment news source Zap2It called the two's pride and joy, The Talon, a "cyberspatial anomaly" in this article.

"We're so proud," Sarea Okelani gushed from her underwater lair. "Being the super villains of the cyberworld is tough work. We've always known the idea of Lex and Lana together was crazy, but hearing some legitimate press back us up -- well, you can imagine how rewarding that is."

"This is everything we've been working toward," Jade Okelani agreed from her space shuttle orbiting the moon. "It really makes all the time I spend in space worth it."

News of Zap2It's high praise was first brought to Sarea and Jade's attention by dedicated colleagues Sheena and Lissette, we learned here at the Totally Fake Daily Planet.

But does this story have an appalling, seedy underbelly?

"I don't think the people at Zap2It even read the Battle of Troy manifesto," a source close to the Talonists confided. "I mean, if they had, they'd realize that Sarea and Jade already acknowledge that any relationship between those two characters wouldn't happen until the third season, at the earliest -- and Lana would be 18 then. You know. So she can work out all that junk with Clark."

The truth of this may very well strip Sarea and Jade of their new title, and this possibility has them working feverishly on another venture that will ensure them the honor for years to come -- a project involving Harry Potter, three Hobbits, and the dog from "Frasier."

Goodness, it's been a whole month since the last update -- our apologies. This was due to a combination of factors, first and foremost being that Moss didn't have an Internet connection at home for ~2 weeks. The other reason was a general lack of interest due to a really horrid drought of Lex/Lana, not to mention some pretty mediocre episodes. However -- last week's ep Prodigal has cheered us up somewhat, reminding us of why we tune into the show in the first place, so we're back with our interests piqued once more. : )

Before we get to the updates, we wanted to tell you about The Talon Live Journal Community. We're going to phase out the message boards, and use the LJ community as our primary source of communiqué. More information about this can be found here.

Updates: The Smallville soundtrack is nearly here! Learn all about the goodies that are available on the soundtrack by reading the press release found through the music guide page -- along w/ info about featured artist am Radio. The music guide has been updated with all available information up to Prodigal. Some pretty damn good music they've been playing, we'll give them that. Sometimes, it makes up for a less-than-noteworthy episode. Other times -- no. The news page has also been updated with performance numbers of Smallville and Gilmore Girls vs. the premiere of American Idol.

Cassandra's Eye has also been updated, and we bemoan the severe lack of Lex/Lana. It's been ages. Luckily, Christie recently posted part six of "Finding Home," which you can find at fanfic recs.

For those of you who enjoy spoilers, we've got some pictures and a synopsis of this coming Tuesday's episode of Fever on the -- you guessed it -- spoilers page (through Three's Company). Folks, let's hope it's a good one.

Updates: Christopher Reeve to guest star on an episode of Smallville -- read all about it on the news page. The music guide has finally been updated with the music from Skinwalkers. Cassandra's Eye updated with Visage info.

Aren't we lucky? Christie has continued her "Close Quarters" series with another series, "Finding Home." The first five stories have been posted to fanfic recs. Enjoy!

Happy New Year to you all! I'm sure that you, like we, are looking forward to Smallville coming out of hiatus. It's going to be a great rest of the season, we can feel it.

Updates: The Smallville Soundtrack will be releasing Feb. 25 this year, and it looks great. We've created a separate page for it that will reside on the Music Guide. You can access it directly here. We are particularly enamored with the album title, for obvious reasons. <g> (Full version available at the page.)

Thank you to Lysandra, who alerted us to the fact that the LJ code we supplied for the quiz results had a minor error in it, rendering those who used it unable to see the images. That has been corrected (though if you uploaded the image to your own server, that would not have affected you). Thanks, Lysandra!

SURPRISE! As a treat, we've created a quiz for you all to take! Who's Your Smallville Guy? This quiz and future quizzes can be located at Three's Company, where all our wacky stuff resides. (In future, multimedia and other things will be added there as well.) Post your results to your Live Journal or blog, and share the fun! **If you can, we'd prefer that you download the image and host it on a server of your own, so as to prevent bandwidth issues. Thanks!**

Updates: Seven new S2 promo shots of Lex have been added to the image gallery! Also, parts II and III of Christie's series "Close Quarters" have been posted to fanfic recs. Have fun!

Interview w/ MR: Wanda at E! recently interviewed the lovely Mr. Rosenbaum, the full article of which can be found here. But a little clip:

Wanda: How about any prospects for some lovin'? Maybe with Lana?

MR: I wish. She's too young. I mean, they can't have a 21-year-old character--or however old I am--and Lana, who's now in high school. I just don't think you can go there. But if I were the writers, I'd be writing it in. That's for damn sure.

Why, does our Talonist manifesto address this very issue? Why yes it does. Haven't read it yet? It's what that The Battle of Troy link is off to the right.

Updates: We are happily recommending four additional stories for your reading enjoyment in our fan fiction recommendations section: "Close Quarters I: The Offer," "Fireplace Conversations (I)," and "Hideaway," all by Christie, and "Coldness in Moonlight" by Viv. Enjoy!
